THERE WAS NOTHING REALLY THAT SHE COULD DO TO CONTROL HER ABILITY TO BE BORED. ONE THING SHE KNEW ABOUT THIS ABILITY WAS, HOWEVER, THAT IT WAS NOT INHERITED. CONSIDERING HER PARENTS WERE ADVENTURERS, TALLULAH WAS DEFINITELY BORN FROM TWO SCAREDYCATS. NO, SHE WAS SURE IF THEY WERE STILL ALIVE THAT THEY'D HAVE COME UP WITH TEN NEW IDEAS FOR HER TO DO BEFORE BREAKFAST EVEN BEGAN. THE SAD THING WAS, THOUGH, THAT DAY SHE REALLY NEEDED THEM TO DO JUST THAT - AND THEY WEREN'T THERE. THEY HAD NEVER BEEN THERE. IT WASN'T AS THOUGH TALLY BLAMED THEM, THOUGH. THE ACCIDENT HAD BEEN PURELY AN ACCIDENT, AND IT WASN'T AS THOUGH HER PARENTS PURPOSELY LEFT HER WITH HER SQUIB AUNT. THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE PACKED UP AND GONE WITH THEIR LOVELY DAUGHTER BEHIND. NO, ALTHOUGH SHE NEVER KNEW HER PARENTS WELL, SHE KNEW THEY WOULDN'T DO SUCH THINGS. THEY WERE ADVENTURERS. THEY WOULDN'T RUN SCARED OF A KID.
STILL, AS TALLULAH WOKE THAT MORNING AND SAT IN HER BUNK, SHE COULDN'T HELP BUT WONDER WHAT KIND OF THINGS THEY WOULD HAVE TOLD HER TO ATTEMPT. SHE CHUCKLED TO HERSELF AND STOOD UP, GOING TO THE WINDOW. SHE STOOD ON HER TIPTOES AND LOOKED OUT, THE SUN SHINING IN HER FACE. A GRIN SPREAD ACROSS HER PALE FEATURES, AND SHE INSTANTLY TURNED. SHE WOULD HAVE DO SOMETHING OUTSIDE OF THAT BLASTED CASTLE, EH? TALLY BIT HER LOWER LIP AS SHE RUMMAGED THROUGH HER TRUNK UNDER HER BED, PULLING OUT A PAIR OF JEAN SHORTS, A BLACK TANK TOP, AND A BLACK LEATHER JACKET. SHE CHANGED FROM HER PAJAMAS INTO THE OUTFIT SHE'D JUST CHOSEN FOR HERSELF, THEN SLIPPED HER FEET INTO A PAIR OF BLACK CONVERSES. SHE SMILED AS SHE STARED DOWN AT HER SHOES, ADMIRING THE PINK DUCKTAPE THAT WRAPPED AROUND MID-FOOT. IT WASN'T AS THOUGH THEY WERE RIPPING APART. NO, TALLULAH SIMPLY LIKED THE STYLE.
THE BLONDE PULLED OUT A PAIR OF BLACK DANGLED EARRINGS AND APPLIED THEM TO HER EARS, SITTING BELOW TWO STUDS ON EACH SIDE OF HER EAR. YEA, SHE HAD THREE PIERCINGS. IT WAS MOSTLY HER AUNT'S IDEA, THOUGH. STILL, SHE DIDN'T COMPLAIN. TALLULAH SMILED TO HERSELF AS SHE PULLED A SACK OUT FROM THE SIDE BETWEEN HER BED AND THE WALL, SLIPPING IT BETWEEN HER BREASTS AND OVER HER SHOULDER, THEN SLIDING IT SO THE POUCH WAS AT HER SIDE. SHE NODDED TO HERSELF THEN LOOKED AT HERSELF IN HER MINI MIRROR. TALLY RAN HER FINGERS THROUGH HER HAIR AND FLUFFED UP THE TOP, THEN TOOK OFF OUT OF THE COMMON ROOM.
THE ROOM ITSELF WAS RATHER QUIET, BUT SHE ASSUMED IT WAS BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS DOWN AT BREAKFAST. SHE COULD DO WITHOUT. EVEN IF SHE DID GET HUNGRY, TALLULAH ALWAYS KEPT A GRANOLA BAR IN HER SACK ON OCCASIONS SUCH AS THOSE. SHE SLIPPED OUT OF THE CASTLE EASILY AND HEADED TOWARD THE TALL TREES, WHERE ROPES COULD BE SEEN DANGLING IN THE WIND FROM TREE TO TREE. SHE GIGGLED TO HERSELF AND BROKE INTO A SPRINT, HALF-RUNNING TOWARD THE NEAREST TREE. SHE CLIMBED THE LADDER AND HEAVED HERSELF UP INTO THE TREEHOUSE. SHE SHOOK HER HIPS A LITTLE UPON REALIZING SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE, THEN TOOK A SEAT ON THE BENCH NEXT TO THE WINDOW THAT OVERLOOKED THE SPERO GROUNDS. SHE SMILED TO HERSELF, THEN TOOK OFF HER SACK AND BEGAN DIGGING THROUGH THE THINGS WITHIN IT.
TALLULAH QUICKLY FOUND HER QUILL AND WRITING BOOK, WHICH SHE TOOK OUT HURRIEDLY. SHE THREW HER SACK ON THE FLOOR, FLIPPED OPEN THE BOOK, AND THEN LOOKED DOWN AT THE EMPTY PAGE. A CHEEKY GRIN STRETCHED ACROSS HER LIPS, HER EYES LIGHTING UP. SHE LET OUT A SIGH OF RELIEF THEN LOOKED OUT OF THE WINDOW, STARING OVER THE BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS. THE GRASS BLADES STILL HAD DEW DRIPPING FROM THEM, SO IT APPEARED GLAZED AT THE SUN HIT IT LOVINGLY. SHE SMILED AND TURNED BACK TO HER BOOK, DIPPING HER QUILL INTO THE BOTTLE OF INK SHE HAD BROUGHT ALONG, AND BEGAN TO WRITE.
